Create Channel

Setup your Email channel


Step 1. Open your Bevatel dashboard. Go to Settings → Channels → Add Channel.



Step 2. Click on the "Email" icon.


Step 3. Enter the channel name (how you’d like to address this channel), and your support email and click on Create Email Channel button.


Step 4. "Add agents" to your email inbox.

Hooray! You have successfully created an email inbox.



Step 5. Configure your email settings. Go to Settings → Channels → Email settings → Configuration tab.



You can configure your Bevatel email inbox in the following two ways.

  1. Forward to Email
  2. Configure IMAP

In the inbox configuration's collaborators section:

  • When you add an agent in the Agent field, any user designated as an agent can see and access this inbox from the Conversation module. They can manage conversations in this inbox.
  • However, when you add a team in the Team field, users attempting to assign conversations to a specific team from the Conversation module will only see the teams that have been added to the related inbox. This restricts conversation assignment options to the teams associated with the particular inbox, ensuring that conversations are appropriately distributed among the specified teams.




Configure IMAP

How to configure IMAP for the Email channel?


If you are using Gmail, set up IMAP for Gmail in inbox settings.

Step 1. Go to Settings → Channels → Email settings → Configuration tab.


Step 2: Enable IMAP configuration for your channel.

  1. Enable the toggle  "Enable IMAP configuration for this Channel."
  • Once you enabled the toggle, you will see required fields:
  • Address
  • Port
  • Email
  • Password

  1. Enter the IMAP configuration details:
  • Address: Input imap.gmail.com, which is Gmail's IMAP server address.
  • Port: Enter 993, which is the standard IMAP port for Gmail when using SSL/TLS for security.
  • Email: This should be the Gmail address you are connecting (e.g., your-email@gmail.com).
  • Password: You have 2-Step Verification enabled on your Gmail account, Then generate an App Password instead. Here’s how:
  1. Go to your Google Account settings.
  2. Navigate to Security → App Passwords (you may need to verify your account).
  3. Select Mail as the app and Other (custom name) for the device.
  4. Google will generate a 16-character App Password. Copy and paste this password into the Password field in your IMAP settings.
